J.A. Russell Ltd in the Fast Lane: Supporting Rising Talent Across NZ Motorsport

Two drivers carrying the J.A. Russell Ltd colours are lining up in different classes of New Zealand motorsport, and while their paths aren’t identical, their connection to each other runs deeper than sponsor logos.

Nathan made his debut in the Energy Corse NZ / J.A. Russell Ltd TR86 at this year’s Toyota Trophy Series. The car, prepared and run by Mackenzie Motorsport, marked a major step into circuit racing. With only 2.5 years of karting behind him, his rise has been quick, and balancing both karting and car racing has pushed his development in the best way.

Ryan has recently joined the group of drivers supported by J.A. Russell Ltd, competing in the BMW Race Driver Series’ NEXEN Tyre E46 class. With many years in karting and multiple titles to his name, he brings proven race craft and experience to every grid he starts on.

Even though Ryan doesn’t race under the NG Racing banner, there’s a strong link between the two. Both Nathan and Ryan race within the Energy Corse NZ karting team, and Ryan, when he not in the kart racing, alongside Mason Armstrong and Ryan Urban, is trackside at Nathan’s karting events, offering coaching, feedback, and support. That guidance from someone with Ryan’s experience plays a real role in Nathan’s ongoing development.
